The day started with the excitement and buzz in the air as everyone was looking forward to the Summer Carnival, on Friday, July 1st. This carnival was different than any other One97 has had so far, as we’ve never had a townhall + summer carnival planned in an amusement park before. This was the twist in the tale and everyone was really looking forward to the events to unfold that day.

The celebrations started off with the townhall, with Vijay, in his inimitable style, had the audience in splits. Then moving on to serious things, the plans for One97 was discussed in detail.
Then one of the things that we always look forward was upon us – recognition for the deserving! In a typical One97 style, at every annual and bi-annual gathering, those who’ve worked hard and have seen great results are always recognized and awarded. This time too, the deserving got applauded, spoken about by their managers and were awarded with a certificate and gift voucher.

The tempo by now was on an all time high. Once the town hall ended, the crowd rushed to enjoy the numerous rides that were there in Worlds of Wonder Amusement Park, which is one of the largest in Asia. For more than 2 hours, everyone’s brain was buzzing and eyes popping out as they tried one ride after the other. The laughter was infectious and the excitement was palpable.
The fun didn’t stop there. The fun club and Worlds of Wonder staff had planned some fun and games and many participated. Post that, the dance floor was packed to the brim with the DJ playing the latest bollywood numbers and the crowd was not ready to go home.
It was 10 p.m by the time everyone was ready to have the scrumptious dinner.
Overall, it was an evening to remember for a long long time. Kudos to all those who had made this possible and ensure everyone had the time of their life

It’s a proud moment for One97 as we’re 1000 strong employees now.

Starting off from Nehru Place (New Delhi), we now have presence in Noida (2 locations), Chennai, Mumbai, Dubai and Africa. On 18th May, our Bangalore office will be inaugurated. Many more locations are in the pipeline.

Congratulations to all of us. This moment is a testimony to our hard work towards growing our business.

The colors of Holi were reflected on the myriad emotions of all in One97. When it comes to celebrations, nothing and nobody can beat us. The excitement started building a day prior and went on and on.
Friday, 18th March was when we celebrated Holi in our office. Fun Club had their work cut out for them as they constantly strived to beat their own records by trying new and inventive ways to celebrate Holi. They had arranged for numerous activities to keep all of us entertained.

We were all decked out in our most colorful attire, gunning for that coveted prize for ‘best dressed’. The evening started with distribution of sweet boxes which was accompanied by smearing ‘chandan ka tilak’ on our foreheads –which was a very sweet gesture. Then we all headed upstairs to our rooftop garden in our Noida facility where the actual fun began.

There was a live band playing. We had games such as ‘burst the balloons’, singing and poetry competition in which a lot of people participated. The most exciting and fun filled event was ‘matki phod’ in which groups of boys with full enthusiasm made a human pyramid. There was lot of fun and laughter involved in this as everyone was cheering for their favorite teams to win.

The evening was concluded with mouth-watering and delicious snacks like ‘gujiya’, ‘kachori’ and ‘thandai’.

Similar activities had taken place in Chennai and Bombay office.

All in all, it was one of the most fun filled event we’ve had in recent times. Three cheers to One97

The Chennai office had a great start to the weekend when on 12th February, there was 1 day outing at Blue Bay Beach Resort located in the iconic OMR. This was made even more special as everyone came with their spouse and kids.
At this scenic resort, there were plenty of fun activities to keep everyone occupied: cricket, badminton, volleyball, etc. The team really bonded over games, plenty of photo sessions and lazy strolls around the beach.
The buffet was wholesome and sumptuous. Post-lunch, there were more games (throw ball and badminton) while a few decided to cool down in the pool and some took a ride on the boats. Even on the way back, everyone was in such high spirits that Antakshri and Dum Charades were played.
This was one day which not only the people who worked in One97 enjoyed, however it was a moment to remember for their families too.

Lohri Celebration in Noida Office
Lohri, is celebrated every year on 13th of January. It is a festival to worship fire. It is associated with the worship of the sun and fire and is observed by all communities with different names.

One97, in its true spirit got in to the festive mood with drum beats which jolted everyone off their seat.

The rooftop garden had a great bonfire. Everyone was excited to celebrate Lohri with their friends at work. They gathered around the bonfire and in traditional spirit threw til, puffed rice & popcorns into the flames of the bonfire. Everyone was dancing around the bonfire and it was great fun to see them taking part in the festivities with fanfare.

Pongal Celebration in Chennai Office

The Pongal festival is one of the longest celebrations spread over four days to cherish the culture and tradition of South India. The `Pongal’ day is celebrated to pay respects to `Surya’, the Sun God. The regular highlight of the day is eating of sugarcane, Sweet Pongal and decorating the house with beautiful Kolams.

Ringing in the spirit of Pongal, the Chennai office on 13th January (Thursday) had set beautiful pots in alluring colours and sugarcane. Adding that touch of rich rainbow was the resplendent traditional Kolam at the entrance of the office. There were several competitions in which everyone took part enthusiastically.

All in all, it was an occasion to bond and blend in the local culture.
